The Junior Bridge Festival Summer 2026

The international bridge community is gearing up for one of the most anticipated online youth events of the year. The Junior Bridge Festival Summer 2026, hosted by RealBridge, is officially open for entries, offering young players from across the globe a chance to compete on a world-class digital stage—completely free of charge.

Since its inception in 2021, these festivals have become a cornerstone of the junior bridge calendar. They offer more than just a game; they provide a high-level competitive environment that mimics World Bridge Federation (WBF) standards, helping the next generation of champions hone their skills.

What Makes This Festival Special?

This isn’t your average online bridge game. RealBridge brings the “human element” back to the screen by requiring cameras and microphones. You’ll see your opponents, hear their bids, and enjoy the social atmosphere that makes bridge the “king of card games.”

For those looking to level up, the festival uses WBF-style protocols, including digital screens and trays, and enforced “trick one” delays to encourage thoughtful play.

Event Schedule & Format

The festival is spread across three Sundays, with staggered start times to accommodate players from New York to Sydney:

  • Sunday, 10 May 2026
  • Sunday, 31 May 2026
  • Sunday, 14 June 2026

The Categories:

  • U16s: Compete in XIMP Pairs over 16 boards. This is a perfect introduction to international competition in a friendly, supportive environment.
  • U21, U26, & U31: These categories will compete in Teams (typically 20–24 boards). Whether you have a regular squad of four or a larger team of six, this is the place to test your partnership’s mettle.

How to Join the Action

The festival is free, but registration is required.

  • U16 & U21: Entries should be handled by a team captain or coach. If you’re a player, talk to your local bridge club or national organization to get involved!
  • U26 & U31: While national coach entries are preferred, RealBridge also accepts direct entries from players.

To register or request an entry form, simply email events@realbridge.online. Remember, the deadline for entry is 10:00 PM UTC the day before each event.

Important “Pro-Tips” for Players

  1. Check Your Gear: You’ll need a working camera and microphone. Please note that the platform is not compatible with mobile phones—you’ll need a laptop, desktop, or tablet to play.
  2. Arrive Early: Tables open early, and players are expected to be in their seats at least 20 minutes before the start time.
  3. Watch and Learn: The U21, U26, and U31 matches will be broadcast on the RealBridge kibitz server with a 30-minute delay. It’s a great way for friends and family to cheer you on!

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re a seasoned international representative or a rising star in your local club, the Junior Bridge Festival is an opportunity to make friends across borders and level up your game experience.

See you at the (virtual) table!
