There are regular card games, and then there is blackjack. If you are talking about skills, poker is probably the game where your knowledge and right decisions count for double. There are so many variants on the theme, but Texas Hold’em and Omaha Hold’em dominate the field. In Texas Hold’em, the players are dealt with just two cards. The dealer then reveals three common cards on the flop and one on turn and river apiece before the final calls. Each player makes decisions at every single of the mentioned stages, including pre-flop. The player with the strongest combination of his two and three common cards wins the money in the pot.

In Omaha, players get four cards at the beginning of the play. However, they can only combine two of these four with three of five common cards to get the best hand. It may seem very similar to Hold’em, but completely different strategies will make you a winner.


Unlike the two iconic games describes above, rummy is not that common in casinos. Nevertheless, it is played in private houses all over the world in a significant volume. Some play it just for fun and bragging rights in their families (and closest circle of people in general), while others take it in a much more serious fashion with money involved. Wherever the money is involved, the drama and entertainment are guaranteed.

The rules are somewhat more complicated than the one bound to blackjack and poker for example, but they are far from nuclear science. Your goal is to match cards of the same suit, sequence, or rank, and build melds consisted of sets. By sets, we mean three or four of a kind of the same rank or runs of three or more cards of the same suit or in sequence. Much like the case is with the aforementioned games, there are so many variations including Indian, Mexican, and Chinese options.

The range of thrilling card games is much wider and involves the bountiful other options, but if we had to cherry-pick, the above-mentioned variants would be the winners.
