What is Duplicate Bridge?
Duplicate bridge is the most widely used variation of contract bridge played in clubs and at bridge tournaments. It is called duplicate because the same bridge deal (i.e. the specific arrangement of the 52 cards into the four hands) is played at each table and scoring is based on how well you did on the hand as compared to everyone else who played it. From Monday (Oct 28) until the end of the tournament, LoveBridge will be used for bidding and scoring in all series. Current results with auctions are available at vugraph.lovebridge.com . Thanks to the operators, the play of one match per round can also be followed (and reviewed later) on the same site. The play button in the list of tables marks when there is a broadcast available.

Three teams expelled from competition due to cell phone violations – Chile i, Switzerland in Seniors and Marocco in Mixed. Read more here
The Draws for all categories are published. Play will start at 10.00 am each day and will end between 6.30 and 7.30 pm depending on the day and the category. See more here.
Transnational Teams – National Teams players from all categories (Open/Women/Seniors/Mixed) that do not qualify for the Semifinals can register for the Transnational Teams until the evening of the day they get knocked out. For everyone else, the extended deadline for registration is October 15 here. Anna Newton, Sept 23.
The Open Teams Draw – On Wednesday, 21 August 2024, the draw of Open Series Groups was performed live in a Zoom “meeting”, conducted by the WBF President. Read more about this and check the Draw on the WBF site here.
September From Al Hollander on Bridge Winners. For the upcoming 16th World Bridge Games (formerly and still called by many of us who are past middle age – World Bridge Olympiad), there is now a 35th team in the Open category. The results from the draw do not show the addition of Saudi Arabia which has been assigned to Group B.
If it has been a while since you checked Rosters on the Participants page, there have been changes. The easiest way to view final rosters is the WBF page that has links to rosters for all 4 categories.
