Streaming your bridge games turns a solitary session at the computer into a shared digital spectacle where every finesse and blunder plays out for a global gallery. From the high-energy matches to the technical deep dives of individual creators, the virtual table is always open and the seats are never empty.
If you’re so inclined, you can visit the website CentennialBulb.org/cam.htm to view a live stream of a historical lightbulb housed in a California firehouse. It’s just there, but that’s exactly the point – and it’s been lit up for more than a century.
If you’d rather watch something a little more exciting, you can also head over to YouTube or Twitch (formerly Justin.tv) for some contract bridge games.
What’s there to watch – and why are more people choosing to stream their bridge games?
Here’s where to find more bridge to watch.
Bridge Channels on Twitch.tv
Twitch.tv (formerly Justin.tv) is one of the top websites for watching games being played. However, it’s not just about Fortnite and Minecraft and rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock … bridge games are pretty popular on the platform too.
Twitch was originally created in 2007 as Justin.tv, and it’s original purpose was to let users live-stream anything … including a 24/7 stream of creator Justin Kan’s daily life. We’re sure that was interesting for a while, but there might be some parts of life that shouldn’t be live-streamed!
The Georgia Tech Bridge Club is hosted at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
They’re one of the largest collegiate bridge clubs in the United States. All players are welcome at their weekly club games – and they’re happy to teach anyone who has never played before.
The GT Bridge Club takes full advantage of social media outside their club: they can be found on Instagram, and anyone can stream their games on Twitch.
Kuhchung is another Twitch streamer who posts their bridge games – and they’re active enough that you’ll never be lost for something to watch. Kachung is also active on R/Bridge
Bridge Brawl
No discussion of bridge streaming would be complete without mention of Kai Eckert’s Bridge Brawl. Eckert’s idea was to invite 18 well known bridge online content creators into a challenge match. The details of Bridge Brawl can be found on the website, but more important in this context is the list of creators. Be sure to navigate yourselves over to Eckert’s website and go through the list of Creator Profiles!
Bridge Overlord (Matthew Weingarten) seems to have become almost something of an urban legend, and a couple mentions on the internet listed this account as one of their favourite bridge streaming channels … of course we had to include it here!
This account has been streaming for several years, and has made a recent appearance in the BBO Bridge Brawl Standings.
According to their Twitch bio, they happen to be a Data Engineer with an appreciation for nerd humor. According to their Twitch streams, they’re a formidable opponent – and quite fun to watch at the bridge table!
The French Bridge Federation (okay, okay, Fédération Française de Bridge) has their own Twitch channel where anyone can tune in for their club games. Specifically, this link takes you to their list of games – and yes, you can watch previous streams if you missed them when they happened!
Their website, if you’d like to know more, can be found here.
FunbridgeTV is the Twitch channel for the playing platform by the same name. Their channel usually hosts weekly live-streams (sometimes with commentary) that showcases some of their games and tournaments.
Bridge Channels on YouTube
YouTube isn’t just for looking up videos of baby elephants (like Keanu Reeves does in the movie Good Fortune), but can also be used to connect users to their favourite live-streams.
Tip: if you’re looking for a YouTube stream, you may have more success looking for specific creators or topics rather than scrolling through the endless waves of content. Believe us when we say that you’re going to see anything and everything; use common sense.
Here’s where to go for bridge on YouTube:
Yes Women Stream Too
Gone are the days when bridge was confined to quiet clubrooms. Today’s female bridge streamers are often professional players, international champions, or dedicated enthusiasts who provide a “birds-eye view” of their decision-making process.
Morgan Johnstone (Mojo) is building a Happy Bridging franchise. With Youtube and web and socials she promises to help you fall in love with bridge and level up your game. Watch Mojo on Youtube here – listed as BridgeBabe530
Jazlene plays Contract Bridge for Team Singapore. You can follow her on Youtube on her Jaz Plays Bridge channels.
Bridge Unleashed: Journey into the World of Bridge with Tracey Bauer is a platform “… to share, learn, and promote the game we all love.”
Bridge Lesson is run by Rob Barrington – also known as The Bridge Teacher.
The channel posts lessons, though viewers can also tune in for Bridge Quiz Live – a longer-form stream where the topic is the game and, well, everything about the game.
The ACBL Live Display
The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) has their own YouTube channel, but also has what they call their Live Display.
The Live Display is a look straight into some of the ACBL’s games and tournaments – and it’s the perfect thing to watch if you like your bridge games exciting!
The Internet Contract Bridge League (ICBC) broadcasts their games from Japan – and yes, it’s possible to follow along even if you don’t understand Japanese but simply understand the language of bridge.
There are 315 videos in the ICBC YouTube library – and regular streams are added, many of which are live.
