The 2025 eBridge Cup is a global online bridge tournament where players compete individually against robots. Co-organised by Bridge Base Online (BBO) and Funbridge with support from the World Bridge Federation (WBF) and the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), the event runs entirely online from September to November. Open to all skill levels, the competition offers $15,000 in prizes and official federation points. Players can join on either BBO or Funbridge and play at their own pace.

eCup2 Consolation Event: October 1 – 30 (for those who did not qualify for the Semi-finals)
Competition Format
Qualifiers: Robot games, 112 tournaments with 12 deals each. Top 500 players per platform advance based on the average of their 10 best scores. Note, you can play on both platforms but will qualify only once. See details further down.
Semi-Finals: 90 tournaments with 10 deals each. Top 100 players per platform move to the Finals. Qualification is based on an average of a player’s 10 best scores.
Finals: Combined scoring across both platforms determines the top 20 winners.
eCup2: A parallel event for players who do not qualify, with 120 tournaments of 12 deals each.
Prizes and Rewards
Main Event:
1st place: $1000
2nd place: $300
3rd place: $150
4th–5th: $50 each
6th–10th: $200 each
20th, 30th, up to 100th: $100 each
eCup2 Consolation:
1st place: $500
2nd–3rd: $300 and $150
4th–5th: $50 each
Junior Awards: Top 5 players under 26 on each platform receive a 1-year premium subscription.
Participation Bonus: Any player who plays 20 or more boards in the eBridge Cup receives a free 3-month subscription to Bridgerama magazine, regardless of whether they qualify for the next stage or win prizes. This applies to both platforms, so if you play 20 deals on BBO and 20 on Funbridge, you qualify for the bonus on each.

The eBridge Cup is designed to connect the global bridge community in one shared event. Every deal is an opportunity to test your skills against players worldwide and earn rewards and recognition.
In both the eBridge Cup and eCup2, ranking is achieved as follows:
Ranking is based on your best results, not the total number of boards played.
For the Qualifiers and Semi-Finals, the event specifically takes your 10 best tournament results and averages those.
In eCup2, the format is similar: your best scores out of the tournaments you play are what matter.
Can I Enter on both BBO and Funbridge?
Yes. You may enter the online competition on both Funbridge and BBO. The platforms are treated independently, so you can register and compete on each at the same time. Each platform runs its own qualifiers, and they are treated as separate events.
However, if you finish in the top 500 on both platforms during the Qualifiers, technically qualifying twice, your best result will apply. One person cannot take two spots in the Semi-Finals. Your second spot is then given to the next highest-ranked player on that platform who has not already qualified.
This means you can play on both platforms to increase your chances, but you will only move forward once, and your better performance is the one that counts.
Each platform maintains its own rankings and prizes. Playing on both gives you two separate chances to qualify and earn awards.
Qualification Recap
Qualifiers (September 1–28): Everyone can play. Your best 10 results on each platform (BBO or Funbridge) are counted. The top 500 players on each platform move on.
Semi-Finals (October 1–30): Only those top 500 from each platform are allowed to play. From here, the top 100 players on each platform qualify for the Finals. eCup2 Consolation Event: October 1 – 30 (for those who did not qualify for the Semi-finals).
Finals (November 17–30): The top 100 from each platform compete for the overall titles, federation points, and cash prizes.
Is this the same event as the WBF eBridge Cup?
No. They are related but not exactly the same thing.
eBridgeCup.com is the official website for the e-Bridge World Cup, an event run under the World Bridge Federation (WBF). It is an invitational event that typically features national teams and top-ranked players, with an emphasis on high-level competition and federation recognition.
