HCL invites you to join the 21st HCL International Event from September 14-21, 2024, at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in New Delhi.

I’m often asked if people play bridge for money, in a way similar to poker or other money games. I’ve always admitted that, no, people play bridge for master points except for a few experts at the top of their field. But in reality, there are opportunities to play for money, and this is one of them.

Event Details

The event features a variety of competitions, including the new MIXED PAIRS event and the PRO AM series, which will be held on the last day, September 22. The total prize money has been increased to Rs. 27 million (USD 325,000), making it one of the highest prize pools for any Bridge tournament worldwide. Here is the schedule of events:

14th – 15th Sep 2024: Mixed IMP Pairs Event (N K Gupta Memorial)
16th – 21st Sep 2024: Team of Four Gold (Naresh Tandan Trophy) – World Bridge Tour Event
16th – 21st Sep 2024: Team of Four Silver (Mohini Tandan Trophy)
18th – 21st Sep 2024: Open MP Pairs Event (Neena Bonerji Trophy)
20th – 21st Sep 2024: IMP Pairs Event
22nd Sep 2024: ProAm IMP Pairs Event

Entry Fees

  • Team of Four Gold: Rs. 10,000 for a 4-member team, Rs. 2,000 for each additional member.
  • Team of Four Silver: Rs. 8,000 for a 4-member team, Rs. 1,500 for each additional member.
  • Mixed IMP Pairs: Rs. 2,500 per pair.
  • Open MP Pairs: Rs. 4,000 per pair.
  • IMP Pairs: Rs. 2,500 per pair.

These fees cover all team and pairs entry costs.

Registration and Participation

To participate, you need to register online and make the necessary payment through the tournament website. Registration deadlines vary by event, so please check the specific closing times for each:

  • Team Events: Deadline is 20:00 hrs on September 9, 2024.
  • Mixed IMP Pairs: Deadline is 21:00 hrs on September 11, 2024.
  • Open MP Pairs: Deadline is 21:00 hrs on September 16, 2024.
  • IMP Pairs: Deadline is 20:30 hrs on September 19, 2024.

Participants will also enjoy complimentary lunch, hi tea/coffee, and mineral water on all tournament days. Additionally, HCL will host a cocktail party during the tournament.
