The WBF is committed to organising international championships for players and NBOs around the world.

A new event takes place in December 2024. The Small Federations Online Open Teams provides an opportunity for smaller NBOs to compete in a representative championship without the need for international travel. The invited list of NBOs is based on size and past performance in international events.

The event website is here:

The teams will play 12 matches of 12 boards against other teams (in a partial round robin). The time differences mean that matches will be held asynchronously.

The matches will be played on RealBridge.

The invited teams for this inaugural event will not pay any entry fees.

Spectators/Kibitzers

No persons other than the active Players, Captains, Coaches, TDs, and RealBridge support staff will be allowed in the RealBridge session. Delayed online kibitzing of all tables will be available, through https://kibitz.realbridge.online. This will be deferred by 75 minutes.

The Small Federations Committee has worked hard, in consultation with the invited list, to identify a set of dates that suit the participating NBOs and their players. The WBF has mandated playing conditions and monitoring arrangements that protect the integrity of the event, ensuring security appropriate for a World Championship.
