EASY BRIDGE VERSION 4.0.3

Tue, 27 May 2009

From: radder@hotmail.com (Norm Radder)

Hello all, I am pleased to announce the release of version 4.0.3 of Easy Bridge, Steve Han's freeware Bridge program. This is a user-friendly program aimed primarily at beginner players to help learn and practice the game of Bridge.

This version includes improved playing and bidding. (I hope)

And best of all, Easy Bridge is still 100% free! You can download to your PC the new Easy Bridge at: EasyBridge4-0-3Exe.zip

The original version is at: www.nyx.net/~shan/EasyBridge.html

Note: This zip file should be extracted to the C: drive in its own folder for the shortcut to work. Otherwise, you'll have to modify the shortcut to point to where you've stored the .exe file.
Note: The commandline in the shortcut has an option that allows each shortcut to use its own options.

Comments and suggestions are always are welcome.

Request for help improving EasyBridge

If anyone would like to help me improve EasyBridge by sending me documented mistakes and misplays, here's how.

There are two cases, one where there program makes a poor bid or play and the other where the program runs into a problem and ends with an error message in a gray box.

  • Poor play or bid - When you find one of these, save the hand to a disk file by first using the Menu item: View|File Comments to record what you see as wrong and then use: File|Save As to save the file as a xxx.brd file. Then send me that .brd file as an attachment.

  • Program ends with a gray box - Immediately use the "PrtScrn" button on the upper right of your keyboard to capture an image of the screen. Open an Image editor and paste the image into the editor and save it as a image file. Then before starting a new hand, go into the folder holding the EasyBridge.exe file and see if there is a file: AutoSave.brd. If so, copy this file to a safe place and rename the file with a name like: EasyBridgeProblem.brd. Send both files to me as attachments to an email.
